Malachite

Malachite - mineral, basic copper carbonate. Forms of precipitation malachite is extremely diverse in nature. It constantly accompanies various copper ores , being a product of their weathering. Malachite is known in the Ural deposits, as well as in Altai and Kazakhstan. The main source of malachite for jewelry and decoration works is the Democratic Republic of Congo. A characteristic feature of the African malachite is small regular concentric rings (in contrast to the irregularly shaped rings in the Ural malachita ) with more contrasting alternation of light and dark zones.
